Indian government Bonds and the rupee strengthened as Crude oil prices fell, easing inflation concerns and pressure on the external finances of the oil-importing nation.

The benchmark 10-year government bond yield dropped by as much as nine basis points to 7.10%. The rupee rose 0.3% to 94.36 per dollar.

Brent crude continued to decline after falling more than 8% in the previous session. Investors were betting that a Democratic sweep in the US midterm elections could speed efforts to end the war in the Middle East.
