Philippine bonds could rank among Asia’s best-performing debt once inflation pressures ease and risks related to the Iran war diminish, according to Brandywine Global Investment Management.

The firm’s view links the potential improvement in Philippine bonds to two conditions: a reduction in inflationary pressure and a retreat in geopolitical risks stemming from the conflict in Iran.

Brandywine’s assessment suggests that a more favorable inflation environment and lower war-related uncertainty could strengthen the outlook for Philippine fixed-income assets relative to other markets in the region.
