Ralph Lauren is due to report its fiscal 2027 second-quarter results before markets open on Thursday. The report will test whether the apparel company can maintain earnings momentum as investors focus on the effect of margin pressure.
Analysts expect earnings of $4.23 per share on revenue of $2.12 billion, up 11.6% and 6% year over year, respectively. Compared with the prior quarter, revenue is forecast to rise 8% from $1.96 billion, while earnings per share are expected to fall from the $4.59 reported in August.
That divergence puts profitability in the spotlight. Investors are likely to examine gross-margin trends and management’s comments on costs, promotional activity and spending on growth initiatives. Regional sales, particularly in Asia, and e-commerce performance are also among the areas of interest.
Analysts’ estimates have moved slightly higher in recent weeks: earnings-per-share forecasts increased 0.81% over the past 60 days, while revenue estimates rose 0.47%. The stock has a consensus Buy rating and a mean price target of $446.69, compared with a share price of $394.40 in the source report.
Ralph Lauren’s previous quarter set a high bar. In August, the company reported earnings of $4.59 per share, ahead of the $4.24 consensus, and revenue of $1.96 billion, above the $1.85 billion forecast. The results exceeded expectations by 8.3% for earnings and 6% for revenue.
The upcoming report will show whether the company can continue growing sales while sustaining profitability in a more measured luxury market. Investors will also look for signs that Ralph Lauren can balance sales volumes with pricing discipline as consumers become more selective.
