Wall Street strategists are currently revising their forecasts regarding US borrowing levels for next year. This adjustment follows a signal from the Treasury Department suggesting that modifications to auction sizes for both notes and bonds are imminent.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Treasury indicated that it anticipates sales of interest-bearing securities, commonly referred to as coupons, will remain steady over the next several quarters. This represents a notable shift from the guidance that had been in place for nearly three years, which previously stated that such sales would stand pat for at least the next several quarters.
