The United States is planning to ask NATO allies to provide more money for a weapons-delivery program supporting Ukraine, according to people familiar with the matter. The move suggests US defense assistance to Kyiv is continuing despite lingering tensions between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The request could come as soon as this month and would seek additional funding for NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List, or PURL, the people said. They asked not to be identified because they were discussing private deliberations.
