The UK plans to charge housebuilders up to 4% of the sale price for properties sold through its new Your First Home program, according to the government website. The charges will help cover the program’s running costs.

Participating developers will pay 1% on their first 100 homes sold through the scheme, rising to 3% for sales in the next band, up to 250 homes. Sales above that threshold will incur a 4% charge.
