Texas Capital Securities has maintained its Buy rating and $53 price target for Viper Energy. With shares trading at $45.72, the target implies approximately 16% upside from that level. Analyst consensus is also rated Strong Buy, according to the report from Investing.com.
The firm described Viper’s latest results as positive, pointing to higher-than-expected total equivalent and oil production, as well as an adjusted EBITDA beat. Viper also raised its 2026 production guidance, although the updated outlook includes two recently announced acquisitions: McElroy Ranch and an agreement to acquire Buckhorn Minerals.
Texas Capital identified a quarter-over-quarter decline in active rigs and work-in-progress wells on Viper’s acreage as the main negative in its assessment.
