SunExpress will reduce capacity across its network this winter as rising jet fuel prices add pressure on costs. The carrier also plans to pass some of those additional expenses on to passengers.
The airline will offer about 4.5 million seats during the quieter travel period, compared with 5 million previously planned, Chief Executive Officer Marcus Schnabel said Wednesday. The reduction of roughly 10% will come through fewer daily flights on some routes and the cancellation of some domestic services in Turkey.
SunExpress is a joint venture between Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Turkish Airlines.
