Jeff Currie, the founder and chief executive officer of Real Macro, has stated that the physical oil market is currently pricing in a permanent regime shift within the global energy sector. During an interview with Bloomberg's Abeer Abu Omar at the Adipec conference held in Abu Dhabi, Currie outlined the factors behind this significant market evolution.

According to Currie, Brent crude futures for long-dated contracts are trading near $99 per barrel as a direct result of this new market reality. He emphasized that the primary driver of these elevated prices is not short-term conflict or immediate geopolitical instability. Instead, Currie attributes the trend to an aggressive global push toward establishing system-wide energy security and creating necessary redundancy within supply chains.
