Commerzbank CEO Bettina Orlopp said the lender is in a position of strength as it approaches a deal involving UniCredit, speaking to Bloomberg Television after the bank reported a better-than-expected 45% increase in profit.
The results are among the last quarterly reports Commerzbank is expected to publish as an independent bank before UniCredit takes control of the German lender, according to Bloomberg.
