Bank of Baroda shares climbed 2.8% to ₹245.33, after reaching an intraday high of ₹250.89, as investors continued to respond positively to the lender’s record Q2 FY2027 results announced after market hours on October 30, 2026.

The bank reported quarterly net profit of INR 6,532 crore, representing growth of nearly 36% from a year earlier. Operating profit reached a record INR 11,430 crore, up 50.9%, while earnings per share came in at 13.03, more than 40% above the consensus estimate of 9.27.

The stock received additional support after Axis Securities began coverage with a Buy rating and a target price of ₹290. The brokerage highlighted the bank’s operating efficiency and management’s decision to increase its FY27 credit growth guidance to between 13% and 15%.

Other brokerages, including Citi and HSBC, also offered positive commentary following the results. Analysts pointed to stronger fee income and lower underlying credit costs as factors behind the core profit beat, while describing net interest margins as resilient despite pressure from FCNR(B) deposit inflows.

Management’s stated plan to expand internationally in developed-market wholesale banking added a longer-term strategic element to the positive outlook. Chief Executive Debadatta Chand also said that proceeds from the UPI merchant discount rate would be reinvested in technology infrastructure.

The wider market provided a supportive backdrop, with the Sensex gaining 1.1%. However, Bank of Baroda’s advance outpaced both the benchmark and its public-sector banking peers, indicating that company-specific factors were driving the move.

The combination of the earnings surprise, higher full-year guidance, fresh brokerage coverage and favorable market conditions pushed the shares to their strongest single-session gain in months, although they remained below their 52-week high of ₹325.5.
