Asian stocks were expected to fall after a sharp selloff in US equities intensified concerns that the rally in artificial intelligence-related shares may have gone too far.

Equity-index futures for Japan and South Korea pointed lower, while Australian futures were little changed. The market moves followed disappointing US technology earnings that triggered Wall Street’s worst stock selloff since June on Friday.

The Nasdaq 100 dropped 3.5% and briefly entered a technical correction, adding to pressure on technology shares and raising fresh doubts about the sustainability of the AI-driven market rally.
